2004 xc70 always blowing 12V accessory fuses

Post by black xc70 »

Does this sound familiar? After replacing 3 fuses I think there is something not right here. The fuse blows without anything plugged in...does anyone have any advice?

Check the insulation on the positive lead to the accessory socket. A small break could lead to earthing (grounding) and the fuse would blow.

thanks for the input. I'll let you know how the task of pulling the sockets go. I'm hoping its relatively simple. I just picked up the car a month ago so I've been trying to hold off ripping it apart - here we go.
