I just ordered a new camshaft solenoid for my 2000 XC since I'm getting the codes for it.
When I got it, that's all I got, and it's got a different connector than the one that's currently in my car. The one that is there has the big plug that goes directly into the back of it, while the one I got has the small connector that faces forward.
How do I wire this thing up?
Replacing camshaft solenoid in 2000 V70 XC?

There was a design change and you have to splice the solenoid into the harness. You can use butt splices but I prefer to use solder and heat shrink.

I got mine from Volvo that came with new connector and wires.
Cut the old wires and replaced with ones from Volvo.
BUT that didn`t help with the problem. Seems it could be the camshaft position sensor.
That I only can get from Volvo, but it`s expensive

I had seen the second post (viewtopic.php?21162) before I posted.
The issue is I got NO wiring with my new one. The first topic sounds like it would work fine IF I had an old coolant temperature sensor connector.
This is my issue: I don't have a new style connector- where can I get one?
