Accellerator pedal postition sensor

Post by malcolm2 »

does the 2001 S40 have an APP sensor? I am not familiar at all with this part on any car.

But if they had it, would you also need the cable? The newer S40 seems to have one. The accel pedal is an assembly with an electronic module, but the 2001 has the cable attached and a vacuum can. Not sure if the vacuum can is accelerator related, but it is mounted on the pedal bracket.

I went thru a some help with JUST ANSWERS this morning and the tech said I need to replace my APP. But I just don't think this car has one.

Anyone?

I believe you are referring to the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).
