You can override immo2 ecu on mot 4.4 car with chipped key to start and run it without chipped key but you can't acces ecu in order to read the codes afterwards.

Even if you try directly from pin 7 obdII to b36 ecu you won't get communications because immo2 is missing.

With re-programmed ecu all of this should be different....but i'm not sure.

hausmeister wrote:Correct, I have an EU car, originally with M4.3, but I am using a reprogrammed (bought) 4.4 ecu. Everything works fine; I just want to read the codes. Immobilizer etc doesn't matter since the car originally came with 4.3

So best option ist to take apart the ecu "dock", maybe add the wire to A6 and also use this for obd2 port?
See?
See what? That I am correct and you're not?

You're right....but mot4.4 diagnostic won't talk without immo2 ecu.

AGAIN, NO. Maybe some m4.4 but NOT ALL. Self-tune M4.4 diagnostic can work WITHOUT an immo2 ecu.

I flashed a M4.4 ECU from the M4.4 wiki website and put it IN MY M4.3 car and OBDII worked JUST FINE. No immo2, no chip key.

Are you kidding me?

HE ALLREADY HAVE M 4.4 ECU INSTALLED IN HIS CAR!

He don't WANT to use it... HE ALLREADY USE IT!
SEE NOW?!

I didn't said that it won't work....it possibly just can't read engine codes...but that's questionable too since it was allready re-programmed.That's all.

All i said was about european M4.4 and hausmeister is from Europe...not U.S.

Guys... seriously?
I think I clarified enough what I'm trying to do.

@Mods you can delete the whole thing if you want, it is kind of pointless, seems there is no easy way, and these 2 can argue over pm.
