air intake sensor 98 s70 t5
Getting a code for a intake air temp sensor and I'm not sure where the sensor is located, is that the same as the two sensors on the bumper cover or something different? I search for the part of fcp euro and it says its for 99 up

I believe the intake air temperature sensor is integrated into the MAF sensor. Please, someone else chime in if I am wrong.

Sensor is located where a MAF would be on a P2 car. Find the air box, big round tube coming out the left side - sensor is two wire (usually blue coloured plug) right on the top of that. An inch or so from air box lid. Will bring up a 1-2-2 flash code. Usually fairly robust component. Remove from rubber grommet,clean and check resistance - about 2.2k ohms at 20 degrees C.
Check plug for corrosion/ bad contacts and the wiring at edge of air box - can rub through with vibration.

Sorry to bring this back up but I replaced the maf with a known working one from my other 98 t5 and it still throws the code. Any suggestions?

A lot of code readers don't map the P code to the correct symptom. You probably don't have bad air temp sensor.
Post the P code so we can confirm that. IF someone reads it for you, don't let them give you the fault, get the P code.

Been pulling it myself with Bluetooth obd2 and the app on my phone it's p0112.

This p0112 code causes a lot of confusion. I think this is what is going on. It is true that on a 98 the MAF calculates intake air temps, but that function has nothing to do with the p0112. I am pretty sure that on m4.4 cars, the p0112 traces to the temp sensor "with the blue connector." On a 98 it is usually on the passenger side of the car, up front near the little grill in the bumper:
By the way, this is the exact same sensor part that is plugged into the gray connector over on the driver's side, for the ambient air temperature (AAT) display on the dash. So there are two of these on the car, but p0112 relates to the blue-connector one. I don't know if this IAT actually figures into engine management; is the fuel economy bad now that you have this code?
Here is a shot of both sensors on a 97 850, but they will be on separate sides of the car on a 98: Course of action for me would be to examine/clean/unplug/replug the sensor on the blue connector. If that doesn't fix it then likely the sensor itself is bad. The sensor is the same part as the ambient temp one (gray connector), so just swap them around to test (assuming your in-dash temp display is working OK?). The dash display will go to -40 if the sensor is disconnected or bad, and the p0112 code should go away if the other sensor and all the wiring is good.

There are two holes on the carrier,but only one sensor is attached there.The grey one.
Is that only for turbo models?
