Anyone know where to find some info on removing the turn signal lever? Mine has now stopped canceling after a right turn. Sometimes you can't get the lever to stay up for the right hand turn.
I found a few vids on how the thing works and what might be wrong, but I can't find anything on taking the S40 apart. Found an S60 take apart HT, but not S40.
It is probably either the tab on the lever or the canceling ring on the steering column.
I need to take it apart to completely troubleshoot.
Does the steering wheel have to come off for the lever replacement?
I would assume it DOES have to come off for the canceling ring replacement. But let's do one thing at a time here.
Thanks,
Clark

This is a real lame answer, but...many years ago the lever didn't latch/return on my PV544.
I sprayed WD40 into it from the gap where the lever comes out of the column. It fixed it.
In the case of your S40, I would consider trying it before trying to remove everything. I mean, what do you have to lose at this point?
Like I said, it's a lame answer

well it took 3 months to get any answer, so I just may have to try it. I use some stuff called Sili-Kroil instead of WD-40. I have had good luck with it to lubricate, penetrate, etc...
I have the car down now, to work on CEL P0118 coolant temp sensor etc... so maybe I'll just start messing with it while I wait on parts.
