The previous owner really messed up with your car not just one thing. You are in for some Sherlock Homes investigations

Look up this video, if the MAP (outside air pressure or sea level sensor) is not connected it will trigger Check engine light

Definitely there's many things i need to investigate. Right now the car only has code p0037 for rear oxygen sensor. I'll check on the video

I found the map sensor and the hose going to the plug after the throttle body was disconnected so i looked and connected everything. Now i have to source the pieces and hoses that go to the air filter box.. could the disconnected hose on the map sensor cause weird inconsistencies while driving?

Yes. Enrique. You also have an open vacuum port on the manifold in.The picture above. That needs either a hose or a plug.

Find the vacuum hose picture under the hood to see what's missing.

It might be the air cleaner thermostat vacuum motor

My air cleaner box is missing the thermostat and intake pipes that take fresh air from the grill, so the air box is basically just sitting there pulling hot air from inside the hood :(

On a positive note, after connecting the hoses to the map sensor, the car starts right up even when cold and pulls much better

Good news

Missing the flat plastic tube between the front grid and the airbox really ruins the fuel consumption at speeds above 40kmh, the faster, the worst. If the thermostat is missing it's not big deal, it's was already broken and can't be replaced. Just set the flap inside to open in summer and part closed in winter. A scrap yard is the best place to grab those missing plastic parts

The car runs better now but it's now getting obd code p0106 which is for MAP sensor out of range.. is it safe to say that this is related to the missing pipes that go to the air filter vaccum plugs?

What's weird is that there was no codes when the map sensor had the hose disconnected. Really strange i think
