Electrical "Gremlins" Galore

Post by mathy221984 »

Hello,

I have a 2010 Volvo v50 1.6D DRIVe that is experiencing electrical issues. The string of electrical issues include the climate control module, drivers information module, infotainment module and all of the door modules. Neither of the listed modules are working. The drivers information module has a light on when you switch the ignition on however there is nothing else functioning there. The dome lights are working and floor lights are working and the auto trunk mechanism is working.

The car runs the same as before. When it first started the symptoms, it would happen when I pressed the brakes. The antilock brake dashboard light would flash, gauges would lose power, SRS light would flash and then all of the sudden it would pop back on.

On the last day of function, the same issue happened although the heater and radio were stuck on and everything else lost power. Now it is in it's current condition. Also I should mention that the auto door lock is also not functioning with the fob although the fob does work for the trunk lock.

The car has gone to Volvo and they thought it might be the cem although when they installed the new cem, they could not upload the data from the old cem, therefore they though it might be a CANbus issue somewhere.

I have connected a WURTH "WOW" Scanner and it cannot communicate with any of the modules or the CEM.

Anyone here with any thoughts on what might be going on?

kind regards
