After-market stereo
After-market stereo
I plan on replacing the factory stereo on my 03 s60. I've seenever some information about issues with the central computer after installing an after-market stereo. Does anyone have any input?

If you have the base HU-600 unit, I'd suggest a try for the HU-800. Used is under $50 at breakers, coupled with the 300W amp + cable it is a serious improvement, even with the base speakers (the premium door tweeters are easy install and worth the upgrade). I put a 2004 HU-800 in place of my 2003 HU-600 and I have everything functional as before (no programming), so matching the years can help having full functionality. Side note, the HU-800 is prone to skipping (worn internal dampers) and eating CD's

We'll I really have no need for CD player. I'm looking for something that is Bluetooth capable. I'm thinking about buying this- http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130290BT/P ... ml?tp=5684 - but I'm worried about the central computer throwing fault codes...oragex wrote:If you have the base HU-600 unit, I'd suggest a try for the HU-800. It will permanently store DTC that CEM is unable to communicate with AUM, but you won't see anyseen annoying on the dash.
You will loose steering wheel controls, parking sensors (if any), volume vs speed adjustment, automatic dimming, but you can also buy an adapter to solve these issues.
This is what I have in my car:
All works, plus I have a rear view camera now

The product (that you recommended) only indicates that I need to activate ground, power, CAN high and CAN low data wires. Since I am going to do this myself, I need to be very careful about what I attach things to!!! I assume that the green AUM connector is the one in back of the radio? I don't know the difference between LS and HS... There is a pic on the distributor's website. https://incartec.co.uk/Instructions/25-514(1).pdf I need to know if that pic is the green plug you speak of...
