The reason I mentioned $300 above is that: if the car owners are willing to do some hammering and Bondo, sanding etc. and go to body shop only for a spray, the cost is much lower, since the body shop only sprays inside a booth.

You have to accept accidents as part of a cars aging, or fork out the full nut for a paint job. To make a Volvo look new or like it did will cost a lot more than $300
^This. My rear driver's side door is a junkyard door, same color code, but it is SLIGHTLY lighter than the rest of the car. You can only tell if the car is very clean and the sun is at the right angle. With this car, it's easier because it's white. You barely notice imperfections on white cars. Black cars show EVERYTHING. It's pretty funny, my driver's door and hood (which we repainted) match the car better than the original Volvo painted door. My car just needs a good compound/polish.

WRONG.
That car is too nice to do a cheap fix.
As was said, that's a used door, maybe two, two moldings and paint, if necessary, $800 to $1500 TOPS to fix it, even at low retail, not at wholesale where my brain thinks
Meanwhile you tell HER insurance company you're not going to allow a total.
SHE HIT YOU.
Give them your last years worth of receipts, all these pictures you just posted and demand it's repaired.
Let them do a little leg work and find you the pair of used doors, DO NOT just give it to a shop and pay 3K, that's way too much
Mod note. Jim passed away in early 2022, his contributions to this forum are immortal, and he is missed. RIP

I had my passenger rear door backed into about 3 summers ago going on 4.
The quote was 1200 to get it fixed. It was just that door. Insurance company didn't blink an eye when they sent the check.
Never said anything about totaling it out and mine is a 95.
I would fight the insurance company as well and if they refuse to budge than it might not be a bad idea to consult an attorney.
They might whistle a different tune if they see litigation, they would than have way more money invested than just making it right...

PS: I took the money and bought a beater truck. my door is still dented in. It's on the other side I don't see it.
My car does not look as nice as yours; never did from the day I bought it though.
Plus my car is probably only worth about 1200 anyway.

Long story short. I bought a 2002 V70 non turbo for my wife and piper the plates on Friday evening. Sunday morning before dawn while driving on the highway, a deer launches out and hits us. Insurance totals the vehicle and offers me three choices: check $6027, insurance will repair it at their expense $5600, or keep the car and $5400.
There's no structural damage so I keep the car. Hunted for parts. Drove from SW MI to Cincinnati to get a fender in pristine condition, same year AND color. Then drove to Milwaukee and picked up 2 right side doors, same year AND color. Windshield was replaced, bought used headlight and mirror. Took me 7 hours and I did the bolt off and bolt on myself with a total parts cost of $1250. Then sold the car with clean title for $4000.
Now: 2009 C30 T5 R (mine), 2006 V50 T5 (wife's), 2004 V70 R 6MT (son's) , 1998 V70 GLT (2 daughters)
History: 2005 S40 T5 AWD, 1999 V70R, 2004 V70 T5, 2002 V70, 2003 V70 5MT, 1972 142E, 1971 142E, 1969 122S

Keep it. Fix it. My wife was sideswiped in her 2011 Accord. Damages to your car and hers look the same , except her panel below doors were creased. Body shop estimate was $1200 to repair and paint. Wrecking yard doors and repaint should be a heck of a lot cheaper.
