rspi wrote:But very few P80 cars had the 302mm setup. I've looked at a lot of C70 cars in the junkyard and I have not found a C70 with them in 2 years, probably 20 cars.

I recently had a wheel issue in travel and totally forgot that these brakes will effect my spare options. I had a full size 17" spare this time but wasn't thinking about it. :(
Great information, on both points, Robert. The spare is certainly something to plan for.

Yeah... not something I ever thought about! Well, your options are either keep a full size spare that clears the brackets in your car or if you get a flat on the front, just move a rear wheel up front and throw the donut on the back.

Huh, me neither.

I paid like 160 shipped for two brackets, from a Volvo dealer somewhere in California, right after the last crop of brackets ran out. Had some brake work to do and I figured that was the time to do the upgrade. I can't tell any difference in performance - my braking distance is limited by tires, not brake components - but the bigger brakes look cool behind the spokes of my Perfos, so I'm happy with the upgrade. If you're planning brake work, it's absolutely worth the hundo.

Don't forget to upgrade to the 302mm-specific brake lines - these add a not-insignificant amount to the total. But you'll do those and never think about them again, which is worth something.

AK, if nobody replies with an answer, post this question as a New Topic in this forum. It'll get more attention by itself.
Sorry I missed this before, but Persus rims will NOT fit with these brackets installed. I went through this last fall, because I had snow tires on Persus for my XC. After upgrading the brakes to the 302mm setup, they did not fit.

I ended up switching to a set of Perfos which fit the new brakes.
