1993 Volvo 240 DL electrical system issue

are there any commonly known electrical system issues with this year of volvo 240? my car will suddenly shut off when i;

make a sharp turn
hold the power windows button to go up when they are already all the way up
sometimes, dead when i put they key in. take the key out and put it back in, perfect.
listen to the radio when the car ignition is in the on position. when i start i frequently get the code message on the radio as if it went dead, so i have to put the code in so it will work. it isn't always the easiest start.

the fuse for the wipers blows when i use the washer fluid control.

any insight on where this ground problem or common short issue could be is greatly appreaciated.

Check your battery connections for tightness and corrosion. Not only the clamps on the battery, but where the other ends of those battery cables attach (engine block for negative cable and starter for positive cable).

Regarding the windshield washer, you probably have a short in the pump motor or a pinched wire in the circuit. Disconnect the wires to the motor and see if the fuse blows then. If not, replace the pump motor. If so, check the wiring.

The electrical part of the ignition switch went bad on my 240, as did the fuel pump relay. With the fuel pump relay you would wait awhile and it would start again, then you would be driving along and it would just cut out. The volvo electrical diagrams cost me $27 from volvo tech but they were worth it. Shows location of all grounds, etc. Even has drawing showing where you should have power. Electrical part of ign switch, when it went bad it was a no start, period.

I think you have several electrical problems. I will try to post link to tech pub.
