Wow that is a Frankenstein of a Volvo you got there, glad you are restoring it to its OEM former glory.

There is a long saga on the forums about PCV parts. If you already know about it fine, if not you may want to do a little searching/reading. One key is never buy the full aftermarket kit, the hoses are crap. But you can get by with just buying a few of the Volvo hoses, too.
Is the port into the block clear, at the bottom of the oil trap?
If the PCV isn't blocked somewhere, then there could be a more insidious problem, like blowby due to excessive ring gap. You would want to test compression, but that's a hassle now that the intake and PCV is all apart ...

OP could still run a compression test, just excite the starter with a battery. It might be the lighting in the photo, but look at cyl #4 valves, it looks bent to me.
Also, place a large piece of cardboard under the block and spray some degreaser on the block. Check the starter terminals for corrosion (green stuff), as well as any ground wires not visible with the manifold on .
I am sure an oil cap gasket would do wonders for oil on top of the engine.

Be kind to yourself and go OEM with the upper torque mount. The poly versions will transmit more engine vibration.

Oops, went with the IPD poly mount, we'll see how it feels.sleddriver wrote: ↑30 Mar 2017, 11:31 Be kind to yourself and go OEM with the upper torque mount. The poly versions will transmit more engine vibration.
Parts are on the the way and coming...
The ignition and key assembly arrived yesterday and I was having trouble getting the shear bolts off. Any ideas guys?
Got the ones out of the new assembly by using a large vise grip and wrench for torque.
How am I supposed to get these out?!

I suggest using a punch and a ballpene hammer to get the screw to turn. I am surprised to see blue locktite on the screws that came with your new lock. Does the new key work in the door and glove box?
