I'm looking at a 2006 with 200K miles. Any tips on what to look for ? I've owned 4 Volvos in the past. The car looks clean and well maintained.

All these S60/V70 will look incredibly good inside out. But that has nothing to do with the mechanical condition, so I'd make an effort not to look at it too emotionally.

Assuming it's a turbo, it would be wise to look for one that had synthetic oil.

Giving the high miles, it is crucial to look into the paper work. Look for several repairs - complete assembly struts, PCV repaired, a/c and alternator repaired, control arms, no water under the front carpets, transmission shifting smoothly, light steering wheel. If the repair parts have names such as Lemforder or Sachs, or even better Volvo, go for it. If there's no paper work, skip it.

At this point you are looking for a second timing belt & Aisin water pump asap.
