1995 854T, 255,000 miles, ECC equipped.
The HVAC fan stopped working. The REC and A/C would flash for 20 seconds as designed to indicate a fault.
Read the codes from B1 under the hood and got a 4-1-8 "No control signal to blower fan power stage"
I looked up the diagnostic procedure but got kind of lost.
Do I need a specific testing tool to continue?
The procedure refers to checking between "test unit pin No. 42 and power stage connector terminal 1A"
Seeing "test unit pin", I'm thinking I don't have the tools.
Maybe someone has some advice...
Thanks

I should have added that I pulled the blower motor and found that it spins freely.
Also put 12V to it and it ran without any weird noises.
