Front end tow point

I was under the front end yesterday and noticed that the small grill next to the driving light on the passenger side is removable. Behind it is a tow point. Has anyone ever used this to pull or be pulled? Those of us who get the frozen white stuff from above might want to lend a hand to some one who has left the road. I was wondering if there was any adverse effect from doing this with the car.

No, I haven't used it but noticed in the "jack kit" in the spare wheel well at the back of the car, there is the eye bolt that screws in the hole you describe. Bet yours has this too. I understand that this works very well for short distances or to pull someone out of a ditch. If you're wanting to help others you might carry with you some strong, nylon mesh type towing rope. I'm sure there is enough room along with the spare tire to put some back there.

That's what I'll do with the tow strap. I haven't seen that clevis with the tool kit. But there cheap enough to buy. The only thing is that isn't much room in there since my wife has filled cub-by hole.
