2000 V70 SE base random unknown sensor

Another of my 'famous' random questions. Recently I pulled a couple of wiper washer motors from 98-00 S/V70's. On the bottom of the washer tanks I found a triangular shaped sensor with a 2 wire plug to it. It just seems to clip to a flange protruding from the rear bottom of the tank. I will try to find a sensor I pulled thinking my car should have one and post a picture of it, but have no idea what it is or it purpose. Tomorrow I plan to see if I can find the connector (if there is one) for the sensor. Any ideas from the description what the purpose of this sensor is and if my car needs one?

Well, found the offending 'sensor' in a pile of parts still to be cleaned and catalogued. After cleaning it was obvious (I think) that it serves no purpose what so ever. It just looks like somewhere to connect an unused connector to, unless I am missing something obvious. The part has no connectors within the body so what would the wire do?

Anybody have any idea what the purpose of this is? I have seen this attached to a flange at the back of the washer bottle on the bottom of it.

The car this had had one of the standard Volvo connectors with the spring release and I think 2 wires to the connector. Could it be somewhere to tuck a fog light wire up out the way on a car not fitted with them? I have to go back to PnP in the near future to return a couple of non-compatible parts, so may have time to look at the connector for wire colors.

GN OR wire to the fog light 12VDC
Black or tan black for ground.
