P80 glove box lock swap - How?

My daughter pointed out the glove box wood strip was loose on the front of the glove box lid.

Easy I think, I have another and 3 screws and it is done as I have a spare glove box door I can swap one over from.

I find 2 of the 3 tabs for holding the wood strip on the glove box lid are totally destroyed. Not only that the wood has been partly stuck back on, and to top it all all 4 of the lock mechanism are cracked and broken as is the lock slider assembly.

In fact I end up removing the door altogether as 3 of the 4 lock assembly screw location tabs are also broken off. Have to assume some asshole has prized the door cover and destroyed it to get it open at some point.

Now to the point of the question. I will have to go find another oak/lt.beige glove box door if I can. But how do you swap the lock over? I have to remove it from the lock mechanism that was on the car to another un-broken assembly. The 850 one was straight forward, but I can't figure the V70 version out. It has a bunch of hook tabs that don't want to bend that I think have to be prized out to release the lock, but really think surely there must be an easier way.

Anyone done this before and if so how? Appreciate any input. Worst case scenario I will have to just not use the lock.

Don't know why I didn't think of it earlier. Probably just to pissed with the PO yet again over pointless stupidity and damage to the car.

Anyway, decided to look at Vida to see if there is a blow up parts layout of the lock mechanism, and once found, thought worth a long shot and look if there were any work instructions to swap the mechanism over, and blow me down, there was. I was going along it the right way, but they said you need the key in the lock barrel to remove. Then from the back, you need a pair of circlip pliers to open out the lock tabs on the back of the lock unit as seen in the 2nd of the pictures above. There should be an arm running from the cam lobe on the lock to the 2nd pin on the right of the picture but I removed it for better access. I used a pair of flat nose circlip pliers and it opend the tabs up nicely and the lock barrel pulled out easily.

Next, how to remove the other lock on the replacement door assembly. I discovered, as long as the lock is in the open position, The mechanism still pops out. I know you need the key thought to istall the original lock cylinder, but as I had that no problem

I re-assembled the door as the threaded sections for the lock assembly are actually on the rear part of the inner door section and it sandwiches the 2 parts over the broken tabs to make the door workable for now. In fact the door works great for now and not sticky and reluctant as it was, so a worthwhile and necessary fix. I'll keep and eye out for a better door now to replace it later.
