Hi Folks,

I am putting my car back together after repairing my dash and I seem to have ended up with an empty connector with no obvious plug to fill it with.

My car is a 1999 s70 base model (5sp manual).
My current thought is that because my model is a base model, nothing plugs into it. Or maybe that's true for all models.
Anyway, in the picture you can see an empty socket just behind the wiper stalk. (Right side of picture)

On the turn signal stalk side, there was an extra plug coming off the turn signal that plugged into the socket on the left of the steering column, but I don't have anything as obvious on the right side.

Does anyone know what that empty socket is for and what should plug into that? And if that something exists on a s70 base?
I did NOT take pictures of this before taking it apart. Whoops

Thanks
Andy

Thanks for the quick reply. My cruise control is on the left side.
That's also why I currently think it's supposed to be empty on the right side.
My left (turn signal) stalk does have two connectors on it. Once that clips into the turn signal stalk itself and then a pig tail that plugs into the white connector in the back. (visible on left of picture.)

my wiper stalk (on right) doesn't have any second pigtail connector. Therefore my current theory is that there isn't anything to plug in on for the white connector on the right side.

But.. I thought I'd double check before putting everything back together.

If you have an s, you dont have a rear wiper, right? Maybe its for the button for that.
I just took mine completely apart, and I do have two connectors connected on the wiper arm. on a 850 wagon.

Ah.. that might be it. No I don't have a rear wiper.
good point.
I'll look for pictures of that to see if that gives me clues. Thanks

I think I figured it out Thanks to kaneelchep.

I searched on a V70 and found the attached picture of a V70 wiper switch. Note the extra pigtail and the extra switches on the front of the stalk.
At this point I'm 99% sure the reason my socket is empty is because I don't have this stuff (or the rear wiper to go along with it).

Thanks folks.
