Hey Guys, Thanks for this write up, ive got an 850 iw ant to pull fuel pump from before i ship away the car

Is this tool sufficient for pulling the ring, I cant figure out any way to pull it out and i dont have this tool

I mostly use a very large, flathead screwdriver and a rubber mallet. But do some searches, there are many ways to get it done, e.g.
'95 854 T-5R, Motronic 4.4, 185k
'98 V70, T5 tune-injectors-turbo, LPT engine, 304k, daily driver
'06 S60 R, 197k
'07 XC70, black, 205k
'07 XC70, willow green, 212k
'99 Camry V6 :shock: 153k
gone: '96 NA 850 210k, '98 NA V70 182k, '98 S70 NA 225k, '96 855 NA 169k

Someone just suggested an alternative tool idea in THIS THREAD

Thanks for the great write-up. I did find there is a special tool to remove the retaining ring."Volvo fuel pump lock ring tool" $20-$50.

Actually the generic tool is $12 on ebay...
