Geartronic shifter with knob that has center pin. Plastic broke around pin. Trying to figure out how to remove shifter so that I can replace the knob/trigger.
Videos I have found for other model Volvo's of same year seem to indicate that you must just pull up really hard on the shifter to remove it. Is this correct? Also has a leather skirt around base of shifter.
This is an automatic with T5 engine, 2 wheel drive.
Thanks!

Twist boot ring connecting boot to the knob to release it from boot then pull straight up on knob very hard. It will come off from stem.

So same process for s60 and s80.then? Do I need to have trigger pushed in when pulling up? Button is gone so hoping not.
Any recommendations on disconnecting boot? I've twisted clockwise and counter to no avail.
Thanks!

After twist, push down on boot material. Pull up on knob hard. The whole thing will come out. Pry out button with flat blade and when you install it back work the slide onto the button stem.
