1989 volvo 740 gle need help
my 89 volvo 740 gle needs some help. as im driving the gas get cut off somehow. but will re-start up and keep going. just started happening. i have checked the fuel pump and filter and its not these im told. im told electrical problem but not sure where to start. lights and all electical stuff stays on the gas seems to shut off then start up again. sometimes when ideling it will just shut down. and will be very hard to start. other times just fine. not missing runs great. no loss of power. can anyone help with this thanks much

First of all, what engine, what transmission and how many miles? Have you owned it a long time or is it a recent acquisition?
Your car needs two things to run, Spark & Fuel. Lose either one and the car doesn't run. The symptoms you describe could indicate a loss of either item.
Check your fuse box and note the condition of the "in-tank fuel pump" fuse (fuse #11?). If blown, you will need to replace BOTH fuel pumps and BOTH fuel filters together (Yes, there are two of each.).
You say that you were told this was an electrical problem. Who told you this and how did they diagnose the problem??
Please enlighten us with more detail and we will ponder some more.

ENGINE IS B230F 140 HP 98000 MILES I DONT KNOW HOW THEY CHECKED BUT IT WAS AT A SERVICE STATION THAT DOES REPAIRS. THEY WOULD NOT TELL ME MUCH. ONE GUY THERE SUGGESTED THE COIL COULD BE THE PROBLEMS. I WILL CHECK THE FUSES. SORRY FOR THE CAPS KEY STUCK THANKS AGAIN FOUR CYL. AUTOMATIC

FUSES ARE ALL OK NO PROBLEM HERE
usually its the relay.. in the fuse panel.. big white one.
