1995 Volvo 850 GLT, ~175k miles
Hi all,
Trying to fix a busted odo gear, but need to get the actual mileage off the ECU first.
I d/led the service manual and was going to pull all the diagnostic codes. However, although the LED lights up when I press the button (key in position II), I got no response afterwards with the jumper cable in any of the sockets.
I followed the instructions in the service manual and got right at 10V from sockets 2 and 6.
The next step involves something with a measuring unit (???). What is this?
I tried to clean up the connections to the LED and jumper wire and re-attached everything; went back to the car and was able to get some flashing lights at the A connector, but *very* intermittently. Sometimes I can hear a clicking sound after depressing the button once, but the LED doesn't flash with the clicks.
I checked all the fuses and they're all intact.
Now what?
Any help appreciated,
Patrick

to get the actual mileage you must have the gauge cluster plugged in.
