1994 960 3 ltr 24 v saloon nivomat alternative

I am looking to renew the rear shock absorbers on my 94 960 saloon without paying silly money for the self leveling nivomats that are on at present. It is the multilink suspension system. Are there any alternative shocks at a more acceptable price that would do the job. Cheers.

The Nivomat system has very soft springs as the Nivomat shocks actually assist with the ride height.

If you fit standard shock absorbers to the vehicle without changing the whole setup including springs to non-Nivomat it will sag badly.

Try getting some used Nivomats from the wrecking yards or a used Volvo part specialist such as Erie Volvo.
