1992 940 turbo stalling then starts runs fine
Just had my first problem with our 940 turbo. After a 30 mile trip the car acted like it was running out of gas,tach ,turbo guage , trouble lights went nuts.lost all power. Shut off ignition and then restarted car and ran as if nothing was wrong. This is the wifes car and hate to have her get stuck with a break down. Any ideas what causes this to happen? Car has 140,000 on it and is young for a Volvo. This happened last week and as of yet hasn"t happened again yet.

Have you checked for fault codes?
You can do this yourself on the 940 using the on-board diagnostics.

My 93 940 turbo acted this that had to replace the Ignition Amplifier (Power Stage) on the rt finder wall,Allso and dieing fuel pump relay will act that this.Heres is the Ignition Amplifier: http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/5294 ... agewg6.jpg

Final as to what problem was . The turbo air cleaner box was lined with a foam substance, I think for sound deadening it had started to fall apart and actually blocked air flow through the MAF looking in the screen was mostly blocked. Trying to go pulled more into what was left not blocked and would kill the engine.Removed blockage and the rest of foam from air cleaner area .Car now runs great.
