That's from SCP in Holland/The Netherlands.

The ebay feedback was 99.6% positives, but sellers do everything they can to persuade you into giving them a five star rating, even when it clearly isn't a five star rating experience, and sometimes before you even receive the stuff you've bought. (Just my experience).

I'm still tempted to buy the heater core from Ebay, based on the reviews from this forum, but can't help but thinking the product they boght years ago may not be the same that's being sold today, what if the plastics that is used has changed or the aluminum. Ok, it seems like a fairly straight forwarded thing to replacing the core, but I lean towards buying from a more reputable source instead, one that does offer a warranty.

The ones on ebay could possibly be some that were turned down by SCP QA department and sold off cheaply to this guy who then sells them as legit SCP heater cores/exchangers, without telling anything about them not being up to par with the genuine ones.

I put one of these cores in my wife's V70 (recently sold) about 3 years ago and just ordered another since the one in the 850R is seeping a bit. I never connected that they were a US based company until I saw Robert's video about his visit to the Bensenville facility. Some cool old Volvos!

We've had single digit F temps several times lately in Pennsylvania, and the Estonian core in my car puts out PLENTY of heat. Also, note the price on this core at eBay is down to $35 including shipping. Had jumped to $70 briefly. I'm VERY satisfied.

It's not clear to me these two heater cores are made by the same people.

It seems one is in Estonia and the other in IL

Several of us have bought these eBay cores in the past few months and been satisfied.

If you buy one of the cores manufactured EXACTLY as the OEM core, you will receive a core with the same design shortcomings, i.e., they all leak in the same place where the plastic joins the metal. The SCP sold on eBay is a revised design that I am convinced is superior. However, some Volvo OEM cores (wherever they were made) have lasted 20 years. Others of the same original design fail after only two or three.

I don't think spending more guarantees that you will get a better or longer-lasting core, though this is definitely true of certain other parts for these cars.

I think we are seeing 12 years + on the OEM heater cores as the MTBF

My OEM heater core was BEHR and lasted 11 years and actually failed at the Orings - Im not even sure the core was bad.

The BEHR is $80 from FCP and is lifetime warranty of course - backed by FCP service. Happy customer, no stake in their game.

the Behr at FCP is 110 and the Nissens is 80. All this talk has me getting jumpy since my Behr heater core is arriving today from FCP.

All the reading, review searching, hemming and hawing I did for 30-40 bucks here and there finally annoyed me enough to just order the behr and realize it will last longer than the rest of the car at this point.
