V70R fuel line replacement

Post by flyazzbowtie »

 this car will be the death of me. I'm fighting to get the cap threads started to have the fuel pump replacement finished. I've fought with it for hours now. What am I doing wrong? Anyone please.

Big metal line coming from fuel filler neck, where does this green tube connect to? Also on fuel line on the rear of the tank that goes from one side to the other. It has a silver ( inline fuel filter looking ) apparatus on it but one end has nothing connected to it. Can anyone tell me what goes there, if anything?

Do you have any pictures of what you need help with? I have a 2000 V70R which is similar but there are differences. I did a long thread here on MVS on replacing the rear sub-frame which includes all fuel pipes being replaced.

Thank you Neil. This is my first time on the site and I am a new member as of today. I finally got the pump install finished, and now I'm replacing a couple of fuel lines. I have a larger green metal tube connected to the filler neck that rusted off and I can't see where it connected to. I'm assuming that it went to the tank somewhere. I don't know how to load photos on this forum yet either. If I leave you my email or mobile number could we speak and share pictures that way?

I'm not sure how to load photos to this site. I removed the rear suspension and gas tank from my 1998 V70R 4 D. Now I have a couple of questions about the lines and the placement and destination of a couple of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

:D Neil, I just went through the complete thread on the fuel and emissions lines. Very helpful but still doesn't answer my 2 most important questions. The filler neck overflow hose connection at the other end, and the silver fuel control valve having anything connected to the open end as shown in your thread photos. Thank you for any information and other help you may have. Sincerely from one VOLVO lover to another. This V70R is being a pita and is making my wife stay on my azz.
