How do I replace the cabin air filter. I've removed the two screws that hold the sound proof panel under the glove box but still can't remove the panel. The panel appears to be attached to the sides although I don't see any screws or connectors.

It unscrews from underneath...hard to see...and then the filter slides out the bottom...sort of bending with the contour of the floor as you pull it out. Good luck!

Hi Made in Japan:

Subject: Removing the cabin filter.

I'v removed the two screws that supposedly hold the sound proof panel in place. The panel will still not come loose. It's being held up by the side panels on the center counsol and a plactic strip under the glove box. Do I have to bend and pull down on it very hard? I'm afraid of breaking it.

Thanks for your help

Remove the cowl (in front of the windshield), you can access it from there

JRL...only on older cars. This is suppose to be just like our '04 V70, so I should know....done it a few times...

Now I understand that he can't get the panel off under the glove box. There is a snap into the center console area. Once the screws are out, you'll have to grab it there and push and unsnap it from the indentation that it sits in (near the center console) and pull towards the open door. Hope this helps.
