I have a 98 S70. Neither front caliper is actuating when you press the pedal. The rears are stopping the car. The master cylinder is full, and when i pop the bleeders on the front calipers and press the brake pedal i get no fluid. Thoughts?

Best case the rubber brake lines have swelled/clogged and are preventing fluid from entering the caliper. Worst case the steel lines are clogged, bad master cylinder, or the calipers are badly clogged and seized. Get a set of flared 6 point wrenches and take the brake lines off the calipers. See if you get fluid. If not, disconnect the rubber lines from the steel and pray. New rubber or braided steel brake lines are a cheap fix. Just try to not get brake fluid on everything.
And I'm sure this is obvious but: DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR WITH NO FRONT BRAKES!

It may be as simple as "gunk: build up clogging the ports in the reservoir, preventing fluid supply. As stated above, work backwards from the bleeder, to the caliper line, to the hard line, to the ABS pump. try the lines before the ABS pump also. And the the lines from the master cylinder. Also try sucking all the fluid from the reservoir with a syringe, adding a little and drawing out.
Has this car been driven regularly, or has it been sitting? Also, is the brake fluid the right spec?

If the fluid has not been changed in a long time, you can get a build up of sludge at the bleed holes. Take the bleed nipple out of one caliper, and find a small pin an carefully prod the hole in the caliper where the bleed screw fits at the bottom. Also take the bleed screws and make sure they can be blown through and are clear. It think some of the others have pointed to these issues.
Finally remove and replace the flexi-hoses to the calipers.
Have you checked the front calipers are not frozen?
Neil.
