Had to patch a tire in the worst possible spot. Definitely no highway travel for me until I get new tires.

Move that one to the back, Zion, and watch your speed. Ive driven with worse, but that was when I was awfully poor.

Used my 1999 to torture the BMW service department today. Went to get a back up rear ABS sensor troubleshooting a problem of implausible rear right wheel speed.

"Its rarely the sensor, Dr Abscate, we recommend you replace the tone ring as they rust. The sensor is $180 (FCP $30)

Me "Yeah, that ABS really rusts fast up here, doesn't it? How much for the tone?"

" six hours and you need a new driveshaft too, as its integral (+5 points for a college word) - about $2000 total plus tax

I finished the job 30 minutes ago, putting a 29 cent SS washer to clearance the sensor from the tone ring, and now have no codes.

I did stop at BMW courtesy lounge for a delicious roast beef wrap and a Coke.

Realizing how ridiculous the 4-bolt control arm design is after trying to remove them yesterday... I now see why people just remove the ball joints for dropping the subframe!
New control arms are on the list now since those ball joints were already shot...

Drove home from airport after long week of air travel and the IDIOT low gas light came on.

You really should NEVER see this light - and look up the cost/hours on a fuel pump replacement to remind you why this is a bad idea.
