I'll remember that for next time. Thank you.

In Windows 10 it is often W3SVC (World Wide Web Publishing Service) service or Skype.

OKAY, this is my first post on this site. And I just got my 2014A working again. I tried the regular patch and set the date to 2028 and no luck. So I found 2014A-B-D-2099.zip on post number 7 by RickHaleParker , and Lo and Behold, I'm talking to big brother again. I'm running 2014A, Windows 7 Pro, and using Explorer 8.
MANY THANKS!!

I checked that last week. With Vida disabled in the startup items the port is unused. With Vida running green it's in use by java. If I ever see that problem again I'll check port use instead of just reinstalling.

Windows version 1803 installation wipes the registry key for .net IEhosting.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\MICROSOFT\ .NETFramework]
New 32bit dword value "EnableIEHosting", hex value = 1

Although this has nothing to do with VIDA, 1803 upgrade turns fast startup back on. Which causes issues on my machine if *any* usb devices that was connected during the last session is unplugged while the machine is off. Such as a mouse or USB mass storage device. I'm sure I'll find more in the coming days/weeks.

Edit 4 days later: OneDrive isn't 'baked in' anymore, you can disable/turn it off on devices you don't want it. Oh Joy!

Windows Version 1803 or some very recent update messes with the old version of isoview on my installation. I didn't catch this before because I hadn't had Vida connected to a vehicle to do any actual diagnostics to discover the problem. It was no longer registering left clicks on the module icons in the vehicle pictogram. However, right clicking did seem to interact/select the module. Left click works again after installing the newer version of isoview that RichHaleParker linked a few posts ago. Strange.

I recall a similar issue with a game back in the Windows 7 era. If I recall it was Dragon Age: The release date of the game coincided with a Windows service pack release and the game installer on the physical disk distribution wouldn't respond to left mouse clicks if you had applied the new OS SP. Hence you couldn't install/play the game unless you downloaded a patched installer from the developer. If it's the same or similar bug, installation of the current isoview application version might be necessary for many or all running the 'Russian Vida repack' on Win10.

Mr Brain, My install with IsoView 7.3: In the parts section, the reference numbers do not show in the exploded diagrams. Is it the same on your install?

That looks to be working on mine. If you're talking about a different area/function in VIDA, please specify.

I have worked for 3 days now trying to install the VIDA DICE software. It does not work.
Interesting is, that on my DVD the software looks a bit different, than in all videos I have found on youtube. I have the VIDA DICE 2014D version, and one CD, (from ebay).

So this is the state:
I cleaned a laptop (Lenovo AMD single core 1.0 GHz, year 2012) and installed a new fresh W7 Professional. I then worked several hours until I realised that it wasn’t possible to get ie9 any longer. Not even ie10. So I finally downloaded ie11.
After using a combination of videos on youtube and the instruction given on the dvd, I managed to extract the software and install it. But the Patch seems to be, at least part of the problem. I tried the 2014A-B-D-2099.zip, I found here on the forum, was also no real solution.
I see that on a few videos he/she checks under the Device Manager and find the “DiCE Hardware” there. In my laptop there are no “DiCE Hardware” there. Is that possible without having the VIDA Box connected?
I have changed the expiring date. When I run the “filldb.cmd” I cannot see that anything happens.
When I pull the button “VIDA All-in-one (the grey one), I get on of the following reactions;
- This page can’t be displayed, or error 404, or some other strange reaction
- Or ie11 just crashes
Ie11 works like chewing gum :(
Also, when I load OS Updates, it hangs, (last time on no. 69 of 96) some updates seems to just not fit in my computer.
Can anyone give me some help? I’m an engineer 53 y.o. but I’m no software man. I cannot code.

The patch file on this forum addresses the licensing issue and makes Vida run with admin or 1 as the user however it's had a file modified to allow running after 2017 31st December. It doesn't address the IE11 issue at all. Make sure the Vida monitor goes green and also that the Vida monitor icon is set to display at all times, not just notifications.

Quite normal for Dice not to appear in Device Manager if it's not plugged into the OBD port on the car as the Dice is not properly powered with 12V supply

I just installed Vida to a Win 7 Pro laptop running IE 11 or 12 I can't recall which. I used the instructions attached to convert it to run on Chrome. Works very well.

Another fix is to find an old OEM builder's version of Win 7 with IE8 standard. You can also use Win 7 Home if you fiddle the registry as per you Tube videos.
