So we matched up the part numbers and noticed they weren't the same. So we went back to the junkyard to find one that matched our part, and lo and behold, it belonged to a turbo-ed engine. We were also confused, but hey, the numbers matched....
Did somebody payed attention to this post?
To me..it sounds like it WAS a turbo car somewhere in the past....and converted to a non turbo.
That would explain why it have M4.3 in a '95 or M4.4 for which i would need Bosch numbers from ecu for confirmation.
The turbo and non-turbo use the same cam sensor. There is an old style (black plastic cap) and a new style (all metal) but they are completely interchangeable, I have swapped them around myself etc. This is just a coincidence that they found one on a turbo car that looks the same.

Also, my engine makes this clicking noise that randomly appears and disappears... The clicking is in tune with the rpms of the engine... Should I be concerned?

To me..it sounds like it WAS a turbo car somewhere in the past....and converted to a non turbo.

His VIN says it came out of the factory as a NA. The build may of started off as a turbo then got a NA ... because they where short on turbo engines ... the Heinz 57 concept.

Also, my engine makes this clicking noise that randomly appears and disappears...

Ticking like a sewing machine? If so, most likely a lifter(s) getting weak or injectors.
If it sounds like somebody smacking with a hammer, be concerned.

I hope that you understand this correctly....cooling fan will work all the time when ac is ON...key in position II and while running...but it must NOT run when engine is turned OFF...unless ECT is faulty.

Ticking can also be the cam hitting the lifter. It's possible for the hole in the head oil travels through to lube the lifters gets clogged and then the cam hammers on dry lifters creating that tick...

I’ve noticed my 99 fan will run on if the MAF is disconnected.
