2004 S60 2.5T - SRS-00D5,SRS-E003

Post by y2kdad »

Using an iCarSoft 906 I read the codes to determine why I was getting the SRS warning light. Received SRS-00D5 (SRS indicator lamp. Signal missing) and SRS-E003 (Configuration fault. Faulty configuration)

I haven't tried to reset the code yet. Any idea as to how severe this is? I don't know if this is something I can fix myself.

Clear the codes, it might just be a hiccup or somebody turned the key on when a control area network (CAN) cable was disconnected.

If it comes back, the fist thing to look for is an open between the SRS control module and the central electrical module (CEM). Cleaning the connectors where the harness plug in on the SRS and CEM is the easiest thing, so start there.

Ignore SRS-E003 because, SRS-00D5 will trigger a SRS-E003 every time.

Thanks!! I’ll give it a try.

Three weeks earlier, the car went into limp-hole mode, with the gauges dead and no hazard lights or turn signals. The reset everything with his scan tool and tried to replicate the problem but returned the car to me after a few days because he found nothing.

Is it a reasonable assumption that these two incidents are related?

Sorry for the typos. I meant limp-home mode and my mechanic reset everything.

It is possible a harness came loose enough to opened some CAN cables. Taking everything you said together, I would look for harness connectors that are not fully seated or need cleaning.
