1995 850 t-5r A/C

My 1995 850 T-5R A/C cycles hot and cold when the ambient temperature exceeds 106F, or runs for 60 minutes with A/C on. My mechanic changed the refridgerant, but could not duplicate the problem under 70-80F ambient temperature, and says that there is nothing wrong with the A/C. Can anyone offer a cause of this A/C problem?

Measure the compressor clutch gap, or take a picture and post it here. This is a common problem with high mileage Volvo’s

At 106F, the AC compressor duty cycle will be 100%, normally
