Regarding the indicator light, since I'm thinking about this again...

4CD over a 35 degree viewing angle with a little something to diffuse it a little might suit as a replacement for the 2721 (7cd/360 degree spread for an incandescent where at least half the light ouput is 'wasted'). There's no point to using any of the 2721 'replacement' LEDs I see on amazon/ebay as at 20CD and up there would be no point to turning on the high beams if you're just going to be blinded by the blue indicator on the DIM. These have inbuilt current limiting resistors: delete/short across the one on the DIM circuit board that fails causing an open circuit to the lamp. Forward current should be safe (0.1A vs 0.09A).

With some care its possible to replace a smd resistor. I took a picture of the board near the high beam bulb at it has 100 and 4R7 resistors. There are a few of these elsewhere on the board and I have a spare DIM so next I'll swap the three resistors near the bulb.

Each bulb has a resistor. The high beam indicator is a different wattage from the rest, therefore the resistor value may be specific to that bulb. As I recall it's not right next to the bulb, but a couple inches away. You have to follow the traces from the bulb contacts on the board to find it.
If you have a working DIM on the bench, measure the resistance across the thing, and with a magnifier see if you can make out any markings/lettering on it which should help identify it as a standard resistor, NTC, or PPTC (unlikely). I couldn't read the marking on sis' DIM. And since it intermittently opens the circuit I can't trust what I would measure with an ohmmeter: might likely measure higher resistance than it should even when it does have continuity.

Could not found the faulty guy. I did check all those around the bulb - pictures 1 and 2, they all check fine against a known working spare DIM. Picture 3 is the whole board, if you remember which other resistor would need checked it's welcome. The high beam bulb is the one under the connector.
What is worth noting is the bulb stopped working at the exact moment when I turned the headlight knob on the dash switch, from 0 to low beam.
