Oil leak

Post by Soccerdad »

I have a 04 Volvo C70. I have had oil pouring out of the passenger side of the car. I have replaced the crankshaft seal, oil pump gasket, and the front camshaft seal, but still continues to pour oil out. It seems to only leak when I drive the car hopefully someone can help me.

You sure it Engine Oil and not Power Steering Fluid or Transmission Fluid.

1. Wash the entire Engine Bay, top and bottom, with a Power Washer.
(There is a reason a Car Wash has a Engine Degreaser setting)
2. Add different color Trace Dyes to the Oil,Transmission and Power Steering .
3. Drive the car a short distance.
4. Use a UV light to see what is leaking, you can tell by the color of the trace dye, then follow the dye to the leak.

You can get the Trace Dyes and the UV light at a Auto Parts Store.
