knocking from frontwheel s60

Sounds like a CV joint. But it doesn't get better or worse when you turn left or right,start or stop,just comes and goes

Did you look at the tires for any damage or maybe an embedded foreign object?

Try rotating tires from front to back and see what happens.

Very common sources of knock on S60 are the suspension components. Here the my suggestions to check in order:

* End Links: Grab the end links and rotate to test for play, push up and down to test for play

* Torn front bushing of control arms: Grab the wheel at 3 and 9 and wiggle checking for play in the front bushings

* Outer tie rod: Grab the wheel at 3 and 9 and wiggle to test for play
