Oil Trap Hose Missing Topic is solved

HELP please!

So I took my Volvo with my mechanic for an engine swap. By the time he was done with this; his dog had eaten 3 hoses. I have recovered most of it.

There is only one hose missing. The problem here is... WE DON'T KNOW WHAT HOSE IT IS!
All I know is that this hose should be connected from/to the oil trap (part number 8670306) and from/to another hose that goes connected to the Inlet Manifold. The mechanic told me that this hose had a PCV valve in it, but I've been told at Autozone that this model doesn't have a PCV valve?
I'm adding as many pictures as I can for refference; Im also circling in red the parts that Im asking about. In the hopes that anyone can help. I will greatly appreciate it.

BONUS QUESTION: Would it be safe if I just connected that hose (the one in the in the pictures, the one connected to the Inlet Manifold) straight to the oil trap?

Your signature says it is a 2004 S80 - intake looks like a 6 cylinder.

It appears your oil trap is for chassis number 240000 and up. Part number for the oil trap is 8670306 (as you posted), and the pipe you have showing could be 9497569. It is hard to tell from the pictures whether you have the right pipe connected to the right place. I think it is incorrect and your "?" is correct.

I think this is the right set up for your car. I think the problem may be crossing hoses from pre 240000 and post. The correct OEM hoses should only match up to the correct spot as they are preformed.

Making your own hoses should work, although they will lack the thermal insulation. Look at the link I provided and punch in the part numbers I listed and you should be able to figure out what is going on.

Thank you so much! I think I have it now, need to buy it. However, it seems like Im still missing something to be able to connect it to the manifold hose.

Your S80 has a newer updated design and appears to use one less hose. My guess is you have old version and new version parts which would account for the extra hose. Just look at the kit on the link I posted and figure out which part shouldn't be there.

I did. All of the parts should be there. There just has to be a way to connect that hose with the inlet mainfold hose. I need to buy the hose first I guess and see what else Im missing when it gets here.

Look at the pictures. The side hose that you have going up, in all the pictures of the PCV box I pull up, comes with the unit. It appears to go to the left, driver's side and attaches somewhere facing the block at a distance of the hose length, further to the left. Left is to the right, but the engine nomenclature is left.

It looks like the hose on the top of the PCV box goes to the intake manifold.

To sort things out you could get buy with some stock hose, of suitable purpose, a bit longer to handle the bend. Looks like you are in CA, so cold weather type hose should not be a problem.

Your first picture also shows a hose with the part number 1282933 - pulling it up says it is a heater hose. Is that going to the right place? That could be your problem.
