I have used Akebono pads to good, squeal-free effect for many years.

Mileage wise I'd say I'm over the 20-30 mark at this point. and I didn't do a full flush with the swap out but I did about 6 months ago, so I thought I'd be ok. Just got home and she was doing it all the way back to the house. I'm worried I'm going to warp my new rotor, its not glowing but I can feel the heat radiating off it.

**update**

so it was the backer plate. a bent it away from the rotor and got 90% of the noise out. I'll tear the whole thing down and fix it next weekend, for now I'll live with the noise. Only happens now when making a sharp left turn. It must be warped enough to be getting manipulated by the end of the control arm when the wheel is turned.

Thanks for the common sense reply. Ohh, and I replaced the electrical line to my ABS sensor and all the warning lights have gone off. Got the line out of a car at the junk yard for nothing, saved myself 180$ (quote from a local shop).

cheers

I've had the same experience; turned out to be the rotor splash guards. They tend to rub and make a squealing sound when steering.
