Hello,
Looking to fix my 2013 XC90. Something is making a rubbing noise, kind of a light metal sound. And the car is only rear-wheel drive. 100%. Any ideas where to look first?

Strange since pretty much all AWD errors I've read about previously are about cars loosing the rear wheels not the fronts.
It'll be interesting to read what the community comes up with on this one. I haven't got a clue. To me AWD is something that just cost extra to buy, drive and maintain.

Knowing only a little about the system in the Volvo, best I can guess is no power is going to front wheels therefore forcing all power to rear. However I'm not even sure what component to look at first.

I'll look forward to someone trying to explain this. FWD car with a bevel gear to transfer power to the back, engagement of rear differential controlled by a wet clutch as a function of front wheel spin.

No check engine light on dash, no antiskid service required message, no DTC, just a light metal rubbing sound and the car is 100% RWD?
So yes, agree, there's more to be told in this story in order for the scenario to fit.
