Hello- S70 with the tan leather seats- Drivers side (of course) is totally ripped up. My local U Pull It junkyards have Volvos with decent passenger side leather seats, drivers sides are typically pretty bad. I think a seat is $15. If I wanted to buy a passenger seat and "skin" it, could I use passenger side leather on my driver's side seat?
Just wondering... Thanks, Dave

I had the same problem on the P80 but even with the knob in the wrong place, the end result is pretty good....

I've got a 2000 S70 passenger seat skin on my 1998 drivers seat. No problems, one hole on the outer bolster from where the lumbar knob should be but it doesn't bother me.

Yeah I figured the lumbar knob hole would be an issue, but I'm sure I could figure out something with that. Cut a new hole for the knob to exit and somehow neatly patch the hole where it no longer exits.
That's very encouraging news! For $15 plus a handful of zip-ties I could give it a shot anyway. Dave

Mark- It's pretty simple from what I remember- I took apart the seat on my old 850 to fix the heated seat grid. You snip (or bend) off all of the metal hog ties (loops), peel the leather back. Snip center hog rings last and pull off the leather. I don't remember if I removed the leather on the back part of the seat. Goes back on either with new hog rings or plastic zip ties. It's really easier than you'd think. I have never sewn the leather though. Dave

Try see if you swap the whole skin/foam/spring piece for the bottom of the seat (not sure it would fit). I think the 1998-2006 S80 fits on 2001-2003 S60 so it may be the same for the S70 ? youtube.com/watch?v=AOhUYIG6Qv4
