93 240 fuel pump voltage

My wife’s 240 won’t start. the out of tank fuel pump makes noise but the in tank pump does not. I throw a meter on the in tank and only get like5.7 volts. Is it a bad fuel pump relay or just a bad fuel pump? Thanks

Maybe a wire with too much resistance.

I had a couple of in tank pumps go bad on me. The car would start to stall only when I was down below 1/2 tank ( I actually think it was below 1/4 tank). How much gas in tank? Did you use starter fluid to confirm that you have a fuel issue?

It is below a half tank. I have not tried the starter fluid route. I will try that tomorrow morning.
