Locating Engine ID Label on 2015 XC60

Post by gutebo »

Hello,
Can anyone tell me where I can find the Engine ID Label on my 2015 XC60 T5? The engine is, according to information I received with the car, a 2.0 4 cyl. T11, but I would like to confirm it. Any help will be appreciated.

Look for a label on the timing belt cover. The RH engine mount bracket conceals some of it so a mirror on a stick deal may be needed.

Thanks Jim and Rick,
I did find the Engine Label on the timing belt cover. See Eng Lbl-1 and Eng Lbl-2.
The Engine Label reads as follows:
Part No. (P) 36010160
Serial No. (1) 2634259

According to the Owner's Manual, Volvo offered four different 4-cylinder engines for the 2015 XC60.
The engine designations were: B4204T9, B4204T10, B420411 and B404T12.
With the help of the Parts and Serial numbers, can anyone tell me if I have a T9, T10, T11 or T12 engine?
Any help will be appreciated.

It looks like Part No. 36010160 = B4204T11 BUT it is not clear if 36010160 is a engine exchange number or specifically the B4204T11 build.

Run your VIN number thru the Volvo Tech VIN Decoder, it should list what engine was installed.

Thanks Rick,
The decoder shows the same engine B4204T11. How did you get the B4204T11 from the part No. 36010160?

Googled "Volvo 36010160" then went through the links see what it leads to. As I indicated above I never got a definite description.

Not sure if this was solved; I just happen to have a 2015 XC60T5 with the T11...

You can look up the engines here:
https://parts.volvocarslisle.com/p/Volv ... 10160.html

and then narrow down by your Chassis Number. Hope this helps.
Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.
Disclaimer: We (very) seldom do that

2015 BMW 335i
2015 XC60 T5 Premier Plus
2002 S60 2.4 n/a - retired :(
1987 340 DL - retired :(
