"Pulsing" RPM's while idle

"Pulsing" RPM's while idle

99 V70XC with 66,000 miles. When at idle the RPM's pulsate between 800 and 1100. It is in a ryhthmic pattern that is pretty consistant. Other than the annoyance of the idling, the car is fine. It does not stall and it has great pickup. Any ideas on what is causing this fluctuation in my idle speed?

Check vacuum hoses for cracks, air filter for clogs.

and have a look at the health of the idle motor. if it's not too much trouble, take it out and clean it, that may fix your problem.
