Recently replaced the MAF sensor after rough idle + CEL + “engine system service required” message + codes P0101 and P0170. It’s been about 3 weeks and now the CEL and engine system service message are back; throwing code P0101 again. Is the new sensor I installed a bunk part? Or is this something else? Super annoying

Possible source
1. Take some MAF cleaner, disconnect the wiring harness to the MAF. Clean the connector with the MAF cleaner. Reconnect.
2. Take a can of starting fluid and spray around the intake. If you hear the engine surge you found a leak. If you do find a leak stop spraying as soon as you hear the engine surge. Don't want to blow the engine to kingdom come.
3. Check to see if something got into the intake and is blocking the air flow. Air filter clean?
- 1. Contact resistance or oxidation in the mass air flow (MAF) connectors
2. Air leakage in the intake system
3. Blocked intake system
4. Damaged mass air flow (MAF) sensor.

More likely a vacuum leak than a MAF failure can you read out fuel trims on your code reader ?
