Can u take pics of the PCV??
U always explain and take such good pics....
You really do!!!

You r a great teacher!!!!
Im not afraid of getting dirty... its im very visual p rson and well you know ....
You have "Full Synthetic" oil unless you are using Mogul, Redline, Amsoil or such which are group 4 or 5 oils whose base stock is laboratory made hince synthetic and labeled 100% Synthetic. Mobil one, Valvoline, Castrol, and everything else sitting on a discount auto parts shelf or even the dealership's service department are group 3 oil made from crude oil base stock (Hydrocrack crude).

Thanks to MVS I learned I was getting group 3 oil at the dealer and did some research which lead me to Redline a group 5 oil made from Esters and over time have been melting the crud away like melting wax. 100% synthetic oil is quite a bit more expensive and not on your store shelves. After all if it was the cat would get out of the bag that you are overpaying for a crude oil product.

My feeling is with 3k oil changes performed by Volvo, there is no excuse for any gunk in my engine... but yet there it was the first time I had to add oil in 2016 due to a leaky rear cam seal. Boy was I upset! Around 2002 when I got the first T6 I noticed the oil turned nasty in 2K miles. It wasn't the T6 but the oil companies got the court's permission to label Hydrocrack crude as "full Synthetic" and the oil companies got the license to steal our money! I'll attach photos of 3K group 3 oil in my engine and 3K group 5 Redline oil in my same engine no flushing was done. The first few changes turned darker than now. I assume it was gunk melting into the oil. I'll add photos of both oils at the dipstick of my engine both having 3K miles. The difference is stunning!

There is a excellent post with photos on a T6 S80 getting a PCV system service with step by step instructions. Maybe Abscate would be kind enough to link to it. All turbo white block engines are similar PCV wise. June

No, it takes some expertise to remove the intake manifold. Don't just trust anyone to do this job. Definitely you need a experienced European car mechanic preferably specialized in Volvo. It's not cheap. If the glove is inflating I believe you can pop the dipstick up to relieve pressure as a temporary measure to prevent blowing seals. June

As above, many of the forum members did the job themselves, but it's a job for someone used with wrenches. Be aware of garages saying 'yeah I know Volvos'. Look for places who have several Volvo cars parked in front. Ask us here for a reference or use local.google.com for a search like 'european cars garage' and bring your own parts from a place liek fcpeuro.com or ipdusa.com

I also was told my oil housing cap is leaking....

Now this is the same place where i only went there for that carbon cleaning... and so i asked them to look at my leak under car and they said it looked like the oil housing/oil housing cap.....

This has been leaking since i bought the car....
maybe what 3-4 months ago give or take...

But in the photo i attached the GLOVE isnt totally inflated so is that better?

What do I need to get as far as parts go
( keep i mind I make big whopping $16hr )

Haha I know, Big BUCKS... right??🙄😬

But i just ordered the top and bottom torque motor mounts from FCPEURO

I read that i could blow head gasket due to pcv plugged....

Also i read on here that another post someone posted said to stay away from buying 2001/ 2002 S60 VOLVOS......

Why is that???

Cuz I dont wanna keep dumping $$$ into it if it isnt worth it innthe long run

I need dependable 🚗 car.... so if someone knows anything that would benefit me please TELL🤔

And I live in LAS VEGAS,NV if you know someone that not higher than a cats back!!!🥴🙂

Meaning prices being high...

The oil cap seal is $5 at the dealer parts counter. Really one owner with good service records is preferred when buying a old used car. And the biggest most important thing is to have any potential car checked out by the dealer representing that brand. Their mechanics know what to look for on each model. June

The glove must get sucked in with quite some force, even at idle. Before I replaced my PCV, the glove would very slightly inflate, afterwards it does this www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK8kUQxhT_8

The seals will blow only on badly clogged PCV systems. The job is perhaps more urgent when you have vapors out off the dipstick tube and a whine noise that goes away when removing the dipstick or some oil consumption. It is recommended to replace it, but on the other side if you don't find a trusty mechanic and don't feel spending some $500 for it now (or want to save them for some other urgent repairs), you may keep going for a while if the PCV is not that badly clogged up. But most of us would do this job before it gets too worse.

I would skip that Seafoam for now. Keep an eye on the oil level since you've switched to synthetic.

How many miles on the car? You may perhaps take a few pics and upload them here (with the oil leak, etc)
