Removed that old fashioned cigarette lighter and retrofitted by some useful tools.
The socket came out very well, but its size was smaller for this USB connector: a hole polisher in the drill did the job.
Advantage: there is a dust cover reduces the light of the blue numbers at night.
Good DIY instruction found here:

Hello Zoli! I have just read through this whole amazing thread. You keep very good care of your Volvo.
I have a question for you. When you removed the factory fitted phone, did you get any error messages? I want to put in a cup holder like you did and get rid of the useless phone, but I was wondering if there are CANBUS errors if it is removed.

Many thanks. I was hoping it would be that simple, but you can never take that for granted with modern cars!

I also have one of these battery voltage meeters - It is an excellent idea. In fact it is only an alternator measure because when the engine if off, the voltage shown is that of the battery minus the dome light, computers, etc so it's not accurate for reading the battery, but good for reading the alternator. This will save your battery if the alternator has a problem: you can see the problem before the battery goes bad. I've tested mine here

Well, Folks, I figured out focusing on the ABS sensors in terms of
1. cleanliness and tighthness in the hub
2. fine electrical connection in the plugs
Symptoms:
1. Illuminating DSTC light and error message (DSTC WART. ERFODERL.) going over a bump or at sharp cornering
2. Restarting the car: no DSTC light till going over ...
Step-by-step procedure:
1. Disconnected the battery negative terminal (driver's side door and trunk left open)
2. Unplugged all 4 ABS sensor connectors (2 front are at the firewall, 2 rear are under the rear seat - see the photos below) - use a flat screwdriver to push the small tab before pulling
3. Checked the resistance: read between 25 and 120 ohms (jumps quickly) - all 4 had the same values; applied some WD40 in it
4. Removed all 4 ABS sensors from the hub by a 10 mm socket and a wire has L shape (came from the bread maker
) - only minor pulling force onto the electrical wire); its seat cleaned by a strong glass washer brush
5. Good news: some dust found on the sensor's bottom part - not remarkable debris found
6. Key turned position #2 and connected the battery negative terminal
7. Key removed, pushed the unlock button on the remote controller
8. Key turned into position #1 for recalibrating the ventillator (turning the knob to min and max position), reprogramming the radio (pushing AUTO button) and setting the time in the instrument cluster
9. Test run: no issue detected - hoping not later
Cheers!
