Ac issue
Ac issue
I have an issue I have been trying to diagnose for the past 2 years. Here’s what I’ve done so far, replaced the thermal expansion valve and the receiver drier on my 07 xc90 3.2l awd. Ac is still not cold. I had a shop evacuate the system so I could replace the parts and recharge the system after the install. All to no avail. Ac only blows cool at all rpms. This car does have the rear ac option.

If it’s holding charge, you evaluated the compressor by looking at high And low side readings. From there you can figure out if it’s a failed compressor, clogged orfice valve/ expansion valve problem, or blocked condenser

I forget what the shop said about the gauges but he basically said the gauges are backwards from what they’re supposed to be. Low pressure side lines are cold to the touch, high pressure side is warm to the touch. Compressor clutch is engaging. I did notice that if I run the car hard it will start blowing warm for a while then it’ll go back to cool not cold.
