Anybody know if the 13G and 15G turbines are interchangeable? I'm looking to keep a stock 13G and install a 15G output turbine for hopefully quick spool and higher boost than stock 13G.. is this even possible?
The car I am building is a 98 V70XC lpt I'd like to run it till it blows then install a beefed up version 2.0
Thanks all

I've never done this, so I can't speak from experience that it'll work. Not all the specs are the same between the two.

How to Pick the Right Turbocharger
How boost works and why you need to know
"System uses a sanden 508 ac compressor modified to pump air, It charges a 5 gallon trunk mounted tank to 140psi. The system
opens a solenoid valve and injects the high pressure air into the exhaust manifold right before the turbo when at full throttle and after 2800rpm. The solenoid valve closes after 15 psi since the turbo will continue to spool up by that point on its own. The system has to be armed, much like a nitrous setup, in order to activate. As you can see the results are quite dramatic. At the point this video was taken it has been used for over 3 months and has performed flawlessly."

Now that is an excellent idea.. why is this not common practice?

Spool time has been a traditional problem with turbos.
Recently there's been some solutions like the one above. I'll try to find the manufacturer(s) who are using electric-assist turbos. That's where the spool time is reduced or eliminated with electric power spinning it up.
https://jalopnik.com/this-is-the-differ ... 1795017793The downsides of a turbocharger are that it takes a bit for the engine to produce enough exhuast gases to spin the turbo up to a workable level, an irritating pause known as turbo lag.

Yep, I've had to deal with the inconvenience of turbo lag to often. Hence the need to find a quicker turbo spool. I bet I could rig up my A/C compressor pump to a portable tank like the one in this video. Seems cheaper than NOS or methanol injection

Twin turbo has historically been the solution to this problem. Inline TT. One small to spin up quickly, one large to take over and provide healthy psi.
Sounds like you may be mechanically inclined to find a solution. I’ll be following.
For the other 99%, it’s a matter of a) power b) spool time. Pick one.

Good solution for turbo lag...
Manual boot controller. You have to mount it as close to the turbo as you can. And it takes a while to tune it in.
ECM tune to 20 psi max boost. Or more if you want....it's your motor right...haha. This because your car's ECM is right now set to a set boost max. When you go over that number you will more than likely be set into a limp home mode untill you cycle your key and it doesent happen again....so go as big as.you want and you're still only boost to your current ECM's max boost setting.
THEN make sure all of your hoses are tight.
THEN (this is what i do) when your car is empty get some 100 octane fuel. Yeah we have that in Vegas...because you will need the juice to keep up with that massive air flow.
THEN there is one more "trick" i could share, only i won't now.
I see this post is old. Hopefully you're there now.

Turbo lag isn’t a negative. It gives the NA driver a brief, pitiable , sense of hope….quickly dashed
