Can you identify this part (light bulbs)? - 1999 S70

I purchased my S70 a few months ago and found this part in the glovebox. Is this a nornal thing to store in gloveboxes? By viewing the attached picture can you tell what specific bulbs these are? Any suggestions as you why the previous owner would have these bulbs stored in the glove box? Also, it may seem silly, but I'm wondering about the purpose of the plastic/metal holder? The part seems quite robust and is stamped with "Volvo" and "7683". It looks like it's desiged to snap into place somewhere (I'm assuming for convenient storage). Does anyone know where this part is intended to be stored? Thanks in advance for your insights!

Yeah, I know exactly what it is...it is the tail light internal assembly. If you open your trunk you'll see a plastic cover that you can easily pull out of the way (or was it felt, I don't remember)....anyway, that assembly goes under there. This piece just snaps into the light well behind the red and white rear brake and turn signal lights and a connector fits into the back of it. Hope this helps.

Thank you! Since both of my tail lights are functioning properly and since this assembly was found in the glove box, can I safely assume that this is a spare assembly? Is this normal to have a spare tail light assembly in the glovebox? Is this something that Volvo would have provided with the car when new, or do you suspect that the previous owner purchased this spare assembly? Thanks again for your insights!

Well, I have an extra one too. In my case, I had a cracked back lens and so I bought a replacement on eBay and the piece (with bulbs) was inside the lens that I bought. I have mine on a shelf in my garage and not in my glove box. I have no idea for it to be in yours..it's an extra. Just put it somewhere in case you need it in the future (doubtful).

Wanna hear something strange?....I went out to inspect my tail light lens this morning and discovered that I, too, have a cracked back lens! The crack is in my passenger side tail lights lens. It's a starburst type of crack that doesn't seem to have compromised the integrity of the lens. Since all of the plastic pieces still feel tight (no loose lens pieces) I think it should be OK for now. What do you think? At any rate, I'm wondering if this might explain why the previous owner had this tail light assembly in the glove box. Who knows? I'll take you advice and simply keep the additional assembly for future use.
